The Press Release

So its finally been finalised. Although everyone including me, has been expecting it since 09 feb, i was still very nervous upon seeing the press release. I could feel my heart beating faster and faster, and my legs jelly-er and jelly-er, my mind getting more and more distracted. I started to make stupid mistakes at work, I started to do things at a much slower pace. The world almost turned upside down. I was chatting with Eliza and Zj and according to them, we somewhat felt similar. Did we?

Mr Chong msged me and said that results are usually released slightly earlier than proposed timing. But so what? I'm not going to collect them until at least after 4pm. I have totally lost confidence in myself and I couldnt care less abt the probability of going on stage and the chance to meet my cg-mates. I'm not trying to mean anything other than the fact that I'm scared of the day and I cant accept reality. Thats it.

The company dinner's on 01 Mar and the NMS tea session's on 03 Mar. Why must such a terrible day be sandwiched between 2 days that I'm looking forward to? Sigh.

3rd Day of CNY

This day we had more freedom. We (Me and Mum) always go to the airport and we did too, this year! As compared to last yr, the CNY deco were cut down to a very large extent. Why, cut cost is it? We spent most of the time walking around,sitting down and chatting, eating, sky-training. It was quite rush cos we left house late and we were supposed to reach Auntie's house by 4.30pm. It was supposed to be a visiting trip. As usual, we were late cos we were busy shopping at White Sands and we were conned by stupid bus 358, and Dad waited for us for quite some time. Haha. So we had dinner at her place and she did manicure and pedicure for me after that. It was quite paiseh for her to do those stuff for me, but well, since she insisted...Anyway,i didnt like the dinner at all. Nothing suits my appetite, esp a pig feast, err...

They drove us home and we reached home at 8pm.

2nd day of CNY

Usually this day's reserved for movie watching, but its not the case this year. I woke up at 8.30am, in preparation for our Sentosa trip. Hitched a ride to Boon Keng MRT Station. When we reached Vivo, we were so surprised to see the long queue of Bangladesh. No discrimination here, but the hundreds of pple whom we saw were all Bangladesh. I thot there would be more Chinese. We were conned into walking in, instead of taking any transport. But fortunately, the weather was simply so windy and fine, we had no comments. $3 per pax.


We reached the island at 12.20pm and we took the Blue Line bus to Imbiah Lookout. Just as we alighted from the bus, its tarted to rain. Heavily for abt 45min. 2 umbrellas, 2 pairs of new shoes, 3 of us. We didnt want to risk getting drenched or getting our heels soaked with water, so we seeked shelter at the bus stop. We started our journey towards the flowers when the downpour turned into a drizzle. Rain or no rain, didnt stop me from taking lots and lots of photos. One thing I noticed was that the Bangladesh loved to take pictures with me. They didnt mind having me in their pictures thou I minded-cos they simply refused to let me have my picture taken. Alone. Without extras. Haha. Saw Weijie amongst the flowers. Singapore shouldnt be that small right?

We went up the escalator to our fave "hideout" near the SkyTower and had lunch. I so happened to recall sth called Luge Ride in Sentosa, so we went to have a Singapore version experience. $8 per pax. It was fun, but as compared to NZ's one, it seems to be a much shorter distance. It took me less than 5min to complete the whole route of 650m. But it was still exciting. The skyride was fantastically high. I found it much higher than the NZ's one, but Mum disagreed. Nvm, not impt.

Following that was bus rides (to Siloso beach), tram rides (from Siloso beach), Sentosa Express Rides and lastly MRT Train ride. Back in Vivo, we were all shocked to see the super duper long queue of locals waiting for the monorail service. We felt so relieved thatwe walked in in the aftn, instead of waited for the service. I believe the waiting time would cost us at least 1hr. No joke abt that.

The funnest part of the day was the Luge Ride. It brings back lots of wonderful NZ memories. And the many photos taken. It was a happy day!

1st day of CNY

Lets rejoice to my 100th post being posted on the 1st day of the Piggy Year. Slept at 2.45am (busy sms-ing, taking photos, eating, laughing, chatting) and woke up at 7.30am just today. Early?

Anyway, I know it doesnt sound too nice, but its a pity that I have to conclude: Not a fruitful yr as compared to last yr in terms of hongbaos collected cos 2nd sis and I seemed to appear transparent to some uncles, not a fruitful day as well cos we didnt do much today either. We visited the usual families and plus a change in plan from River Hongbao to watching movie at Century Sq. We all hate lame local productions, and since I couldnt risk watching gruesome movies on 1st day of CNY, we settled for Iron Lady Chef-starring Hacken Lee and Charmaine Sheh. Not too bad a movie, except that there were only the 4 of us and a pathetic guy eating Nachos in the whole cinema. Free-seating. Halfway thru, pple actually dozed off. Not me, of cos. But its all ok.

Lunch was McDonalds-Longevity & Fillet-O-Fish meals.


Dinner was simple yet well-cooked (by Mum of cos), with 1st Sis and KH joining us.

NTU Admission Talks

The funnest and happiest things that happened today werent the contents of the talks,but the jokes that me and ZJ cracked. I didnt know that reminiscing of the Sec Sch days when we saw our Sec Sch friends (who changed quite a bit-but not neessarily for the better) was so fun. Esp when we talked abt some pple like MB, ZJ's-was-friend, ZJ's-was-friend's-was-friend, and how we created new words in the Eng dictionary. And some molestation took place on the train too. Haha, poor guy.

Early in the morning I saw duckling. And I was puzzled by the way and speed she walked. and her attitude was funny too. Meeting pple w/o letting the very pple know. Weirdo. And we saw many many pple at Suntec too.

Regarding the talks, I attended 4, 2 standing and 2 sitting. Materials Eng, Biomolecular & Chemical Eng, Bio Chem and EEE. I only had the honour of sitting with ZJ during the EEE talk and thats when our jokes started. First it was on the Prof, then on the PUB Uncle, PUB Daughter and the Publicity guy. But seriously, even after I have attended all 4 talks, I'm still quite uncertain as to what to take, but EEE's definitely out. My purpose in attending the talk was to accompany ZJ and to hear what 1st sis took years ago. Haha. So its among the 1st three. But no worries, still got time, shall wait for the results then I decide. In the 1st place, which University am I going?

Class Reunion

Ok, tonite was the long awaited class reunion. Iwas late, and I had to rush up to Robinsons, RafflesCity to check out sth from IPSA. My other task was to buy some rubber for the new sofa from DIY Shop.

Things were messy initially, cos that stupid Pizza Hut was having such along queue and my hp batt was flatter than flat. Pple keep calling to tell me the place was so packed, but the thing was i have already left my name and number with that outlet this aftn. It wasnt really my fault that they didnt call me to tell me if there were any empty tables but i felt bad cos I was the organiser and things werent smooth. But anyway, So there were much fuss over where to eat and in the end, we settled for Breeks. I called that Pizza Hut outlet and gave them a good dressing down. I wasnt being unreasonable, but I have to be held accountable for 18 other pples' dinners. And just when I was feeling quite mixed, my food arrived last and pple around me were either in the middle of their dinner, or almost finishing. Luckily I couldnt finish the pasta, so I caught up with them. Haha. In the end, the bill for our tableof 5 was $53.70. Still ok lah.

After the meal and photo-taking, very good, where to go next? XH and I suggested going up Esplanade and just chat and the guys decided they'd rather go home. So when we decided to go home, they were like: HUH, thats all? Quite confused too. Andby the way, its quite fun to get squashed up in the train. The train almost closed the doors on me, Lynn and Lela. So I pushed CT ans QP into the train at the very last moment. Haha. We had a nice chat on board.

I guess all ended up well cos the turnout was good (19 out of 23) and we got to eat together too. But for me, I had quite a bit of exercise-running to and fro City Hall MRT Station and Robinsons, and from City Hall to Marina Sq and from Breeks to Homefix and back. In heels. Haha.

Now that I'm back home, first thing I did was to charge my hp.

DSTA Assessment

The 1st round of DSTA Scholarship selection was an interview, that was far too generic. The 2nd round was a 3h assessment (centre) consisting of 3 parts-online analysis assessment, scenario role-play and presentation. The presentation was the on-the-spot kind, where you picked a qns and use 1 min to prepare for the qns. The rest was so tough. And the place was freeezing cold.

PUB/PSS 2

As I have always said, Sundays are fruitful. Today's special cos its the busiest Sunday of the year so far and it begins from 8am to 2am of the next day.

Part I
PUB Scholarship Talk. Nothing special actually, just the usual stuff-theperks,the current projects, and just that they keep making us eat and eat. We toured the NEWater Centre @ Tanah Merah/Bedok and went on tolisten to some boring talks. The content was so dry and boring. Then-the boat ride! It was rather ok, if only the captain had increased the speed. The PUB guy was still afraid that pple would be seasick-come on, if you drive at the speed of some slow-boat, you will probably fall asleep more than getting sick. The main objective of the ride was to show us the Marina Barrage, but I ended up looking at the CBD and the upcoming NDP Performance floating platform and spectator seats instead. Funny thing was that the PUB guy keep on urging us toconsider PUB Scholarship-felt like asking him, why not the other way round? They award only 10 scholarships per year,out of 500+ aplications. Who's considering who?

Transition
I reached home at 4.40pm, ate a bowl of noodles (my dinner), changed into a blue shirt and off I went to meet Chie Ling at Kallang. But I was very late cos themoment I left house, I realised I forgot to bring a sweater. I went back to take one and left again. Then I realised I forgot to bring a plastic bag, so I went back and took one. I left again and only to realise I forgot mywatch. So I made the 3rd trip back and of cos, naturally, I was late. Haha.

Part 2
Project Superstar 2 Finals @ Indoor Stadium. My first time watching a concert there. Got 4 tix from Arthur (cos his nephew's Cai Weijian) and I sat with Chie ling at Row 4, seats 10 & 11. Lynn and XH sat at Row 7. My goodness, we were so so so near the contestants and hosts!
Throughout the concert, it was very noisy and loud. During the commercial breaks, all the stars went backstage and the hosts just walked around. The superhosts led the fans in saying the cheers and we, being the pple at the side, were less 'high'. Haha. The stars were superb, I must say, their voice being so loud and powerful (credit goes to the vol of the mic as well) and the atmosphere was great. Too bad, I didn't bring my camera. By the way, I still don't like Dawn Yip. Stupid Host.

Towards the end when the other 11 male contestants performed, I was super excited in seeing Lesheng and Cai Weijian.I was waving to the latter like crazy, yet another male contestant behind him thought I was waving to him, waved back at me instead. He still did some funny actions like pointing to me and putting his hands on his heart, as if accepting my support and love. Joker. I didn't even know his name. But now I know. His name's Jeff. Not wanting to break his heart, I just smiled. I loved the part where all the confetti dropped down best-its as if it was snowing. I was covered with the confetti lol.

Got a goodie bag with a notepad and a box of Hoyu hair dye-some brown-red colour. As if I'd ever use it. Must be those colours that had poor sales.

So who did i see? The superstars, camous superstars, super hosts, judges, hosts, plus Patricia Mok, Pornsak and Junli.

Ending
I reached home at 12 plus and had a mini dinner part 2. Overall, thou late, it was fun and worthwhile, afterall such chances don't come often. and i got to meet up with Chie Ling.
